Deck Staining in Clover, SC

Deck staining in clover sc

We got a call from a veteran out of Clover, SC, for this project. He saw one of our flyers and gave us a call because we are a veteran owned business. His back deck was in disrepair, with several boards rotten, and the stain on it had failed from years of wear and tear. He also had a lot of nails and screws sticking out of multiple boards. The first thing we needed to do before we stained was to give the wood a soft wash using light pressure to remove any dirt, algae, and old stain that was on the surface. Several days later, we returned once all the wood was dry to start the staining process. Before we stained, we needed to drive all the nails and screws back into the deck's frame and replace the rotten boards. Once this was complete, we were ready to stain. We used Cabot Australian Timber Oil (Jarrah Brown) for this deck. We decided this was a good product to use because we wanted to preserve the rich wood grain on this deck, and it is a one coat oil stain that penetrates the wood deeply. Using a deck brush and stain mitt, we applied the stain evenly across all surfaces, being sure to get the tops of the boards as well as in the cracks between the boards for a nice clean aesthetic. It's important to make sure the stain is spread out evenly across all surfaces, including the boards, spindles, railings, steps, and gate. The customer was delighted with the results.
