Concrete Staining and Sealing in Bessemer City, NC
We got a call from a customer out of Dallas, NC. She wanted her driveway cleaned and stained. For this project we needed to clean the concrete first so that the stain would adhere properly, as well as remove and prevent any organic growth from ruining the stain once applied. We began by applying Sodium Hypclorite which kills the organic growth and aids in prepping the surface for pressure. We let the Sodium Hypochlorite sit for about 10 minutes. After this, we used our 20" surface cleaner to remove all dirt and reveal the beutiful, clean concrete underneath all the dirt. After rinsing the surface we need to repair the concrete damage. There were several large holes, and some cracking so we filled the big holes with self leveling concrete and filled the cracks. After this we began to apply the stain. We used H and C Concrete stain (Gray) and applied first by using a roller, then using a squeegee as it ended up working much better without leaving lines. Once the first coat was applied, we let it dry for several hours. We then came back and applied a light second coat to cover any imperfections, lines, and to make sure the driveway had full protection. The customer was so pleased with her results that she wants us to come back and do the side patio, front porch, and back slab as well. This is a necessary precaution to protect the concrete, as well as add some color to the property.
